Our Therapists

Meet Crystal Jo, LMFT

Role: Founder
Specialties: Relational Therapy & Maternal Mental Health

I’m Crystal Jo, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in New York and the founder of Clear Life Relationship Counseling. I specialize in couples therapy, premarital counseling, maternal mental health, and culturally responsive care for Asian and interracial clients.

With over a decade of clinical experience, my style is warm, down-to-earth, and focused on helping clients feel understood while also moving toward meaningful change. I integrate systemic therapy, trauma-informed care, and cultural humility in every session.

In addition to my private practice, I’m an adjunct professor at NYU where I teach future therapists in graduate programs. I’m also a trained facilitator in the Prepare-Enrich premarital counseling program and have experience working in an OASAS-certified outpatient program.

As a Korean American therapist, I offer a unique understanding of Asian cultural values, immigrant family dynamics, and intergenerational expectations. Many of my clients seek me out specifically because they feel I “get” the nuances of their lived experiences without needing to explain the basics.

I also have experience providing sex therapy to couples who are experiencing sexual dysfunction, dissatisfaction, or intimacy issues. While I’m not a certified sex therapist, I support couples through relational and emotional aspects of their sexual connection in a compassionate and evidence-informed way.

Let’s work together to build a clear, connected life - one session at a time.
